Critical Themes is a conference in the Department of Media Studies and film, run entirely by and for graduate students. The conference is a distinguished forum for students from the New School and around the world to present original scholarly research on a range of topics related to the study of media and society.
This year is our 11th annual conference will take place Friday, April 15th – Saturday April 16th, and will include the following events:
Friday 5:45pm : “The Multimodal Dissertation.” A panel discussion organized by Prof Shannon Mattern, featuring presentations by PhD students Jennifer Heuson, Veronica Paredes, Carlin Wing, who will be sharing their practice-oriented dissertation work. Theresa Lang Center, 55 West 13th St, 2nd floor
Friday 7:15 : Opening keynote delivered by Professor Clay Shirky (NYU). Theresa Lang Center, 55 West 13th St, 2nd floor
