Mapmaking is our medium for fostering inclusive participation in sustainable community development. We share adaptable mapmaking tools and universal Green Map Icons with nearly 800 diverse teams in 60 countries. Hundreds of locally published Green Maps have connected millions of people to local social, cultural, ecological and green living sites. Our award-winning social mapping platform at http://GreenMap.org has radically reduced financial, technical and financial barriers to public participation. Mobile apps and widgets offer residents, visitors, designers and policymakers inspiring local models and global connections. Many of the tools, promotion and concepts used locally around the world are developed in Green Map System’s global office, and we also create NYC Green Maps. We are conveniently located in the East Village. We are seeking paid part time help with our many design and technology projects. We are currently working on new icons for our globally shared set, gearing up for a 20th anniversary party/energy map launch, adding bits to our website, and sketching out a new Green Map about waste reduction in NYC. And more!

We seek a talented person who is available 2-3 days a week now and will be in the city for much of the summer. We are flexible about hours and where you work. You will undertake a variety of projects with our staff and tech team. You are a responsible, creative person with experience designing for print and web using Adobe Creative Suite. We have an existing identity and our website is in Drupal, so beginner skills in web coding languages CSS, HTML and PHP are a plus. If you are fluent in written Chinese, Spanish, etc, this is also a plus.

We have an exciting year planned and look forward to hearing from you with your resume and a link to your portfolio sent to Wendy Brawer, Director at web@greenmap.org.
