Seeking a Coordinator, Educational Media & Technology. — Hive NYC Learning Network

We seek a Coordinator, Educational Media and Technology who works closely with the Manager and Director, Educational Media and Technology, as well as other staff members of Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute (WMI). The Coordinator will: play a key role in Carnegie Hall’s digital media and learning initiatives, developing educational content, digital media projects, and social web strategies that connect to all areas of Carnegie Hall’s education and community programming; collaborates with the team in developing and implementing Carnegie Hall’s online learning community for young musicians (Musical Exchange), including a range of related digital media projects; plays a central role in planning and executing a wide range of audio and video projects, including communicating with vendors, routing media projects for internal and external comments and approvals, and organizing and maintaining media files; coordinates the development, production, and distribution of digital educational resources, including Open Educational Resources (OER), in collaboration with WMI program teams; coordinates event production for in-person and online events, including workshops, webinars, and other events, in collaboration with other Carnegie Hall staff members; facilitates participation in Carnegie Hall’s digital media programs, working with educators and students locally in New York City, as well as nationally and internationally through online collaborations; Supports a vibrant and evolving digital/social web presence for WMI’s programs for teens; participates in the evaluation and assessment of Educational Media and Technology programs, in collaboration with external advisers and program stakeholders; and provides general administrative support in processing invoices, tracking budgets and expenditures, and other administrative tasks as assigned.

Qualifications: Basic proficiency with HTML and CSS; Strong social media skills, including producing content for blogs, Twitter, YouTube, and other platforms; Familiarity with and/or interest in audio and audiovisual media production; Familiarity with internet-based tools for content creation and collaboration; including the educational use of live chats, webinars, online communities, games, and virtual worlds; Familiarity with and/or interest in education and community engagement issues as they pertain to music, including curriculum development, concert content development, use of teaching or performing artists, collaborative educational partnerships, family and community involvement in educational programs, access to technology resources; Capacity to support and nurture relationships with artists, vendors, and other individuals and organizations; and strong ability to collaborate and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
