Calling all Gowanus Artists!
Current: Gowanus is an art exhibition and sale presented by Arts Gowanus May 14–18, 2014. Curated by Benjamin Sutton (see below), this exhibition will showcase the breadth and depth of visual art that is being made in Gowanus right now. In addition to the exhibition, Arts Gowanus will present several daytime and evening talks, symposia, and parties.

About the Curator
Benjamin Sutton is an art critic, journalist, and curator based in Red Hook. He is the news editor at artnet News and he recently curated exhibitions at Field Projects gallery in Chelsea and the SPRING/BREAK art fair in SoHo. His writing has also appeared in The L Magazine, Brooklyn Magazine, Modern Painters, Art+Auction, BKLYNR, Flavorwire, the New York Press, and elsewhere.

Submission Guidelines / How to Apply
Deadline Tuesday, April 1, 2014 (midnight)
All visual art media invited to apply.
THERE IS NO FEE TO APPLY.
Deadline: Applications are due by midnight on Tuesday, April 1 (selected artists will be notified by April 28).
Accepted artwork must be received at the Gowanus Loft on 9th Street on May 13.
All artwork must be for sale. Proceeds from sale of artwork will be divided 70% to the artist and 30% to Arts Gowanus.
While we are not restricting the size of work submitted, please be aware that we are working with space constraints, and we will take size into consideration as we put together the show. Selected sculpture pieces must have an accompanying pedestal for display.
Submit up to 5 images of your work (JPG format. Maximum file size 2MB each)
Label images as LASTNAME_Firstname_ImageNumber. For example:
DOE_John_1
DOE_John_2
DOE_John_3
