Bread+Buzz, a branding agency, is seeking a graphic designer to join their team in New York/Greenwich, CT. The individual will work closely with the two partners to develop iconic and engaging digital and print creative.

They believe that a job is only a job if you don’t love what you are doing. They don’t believe in clocking in and out and don’t believe in sitting in an office from 9 to 5. They work with purpose and meaning – for themselves and for their clients.

They call themselves bread+buzz because they create positive noise (the buzz) for their clients, and they also make them money (the bread). They work with exciting start ups in various industries as well as more established companies such as WeWork, Spartan and Maidenform. Every project and client they take on is different. Many need help creating their identity and site while others are looking for new ideas to take their business in a totally different direction.

They care a whole lot about the design, presentation and visual experience of every facet of business they work on and are looking for someone who has that same passion.

What does the right person look like?

You’ll have prior working experience in graphic design and UI for products, as well as the need to be constantly learning and growing. Any basic knowledge of business and/or programming is valuable, and they’re keen to find someone with experience in startups, as well as is familiar with lean & agile working methodologies.

You’ll be responsible, proactive, innovative, eager to learn, and meticulous.

What skills and traits are they looking for?

  1. A strong background of at least 2 years in graphic design and UI design (a vast student portfolio that knocks us off our socks will suffice as well!)
  2. A thorough understanding of how to design intuitive digital and print experiences for websites and mobile (site functionality, interaction, site architecture, user interfaces and navigation).
  3. Nimble with squarespace, word press etc… Able to design and implement the design on the basic platforms.
  1. Knows how to execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off
  2. Must have the ability to articulate and defend design decisions, but appreciate constructive feedback
  3. Start-up minded.
  4. The ability to work on and lead multiple projects, and also to work closely with the team, clients and contractors.
  5. Possesses great presentation and communication skills.
  6. Takes initiative, and is a self-starter.
  7.  An awesome attitude + no ego + team-player (no lone wolves).
  8.  Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Photoshop, Sketch, Balsamiq, Invision, etc.
