The Sheila C. Johnson Design Center invites you to submit your best ideas for the 2016/2017 program in the Aronson Gallery.
The mission of SJDC is to generate an active dialogue on the role of innovative art and design in responding to our contemporary world. The Aronson space blurs the boundaries between classroom, laboratory and exhibition, and links the University to local and global debates. The Arnold and Sheila Aronson gallery and hallway, located at 66 5th Ave, sets out to function as an exhibition and project space, encouraging open-ended exploration and creative experiments generated by faculty and students as part of or outside the curriculum.
All full and part-time faculty members in good standing, staff, and students of The New School are eligible to apply.
The application can be found here, and the details for the gallery can be found here. Please note that the application is for the space and not for funding in support of the exhibition. There is more information about limited financial support in the application.
The deadline for submitting proposals is December 1.
Download the application and submit to amt@newschool.edu with the subject heading of the email as “Aronson Application”. Submissions will be reviewed within AMT, with the strongest proposals being forwarded to the SDJC University/Parsons selection committee for the final selection.
Email AMT with any questions.
