Communication Design Senior Maya Sariahmed spent the Spring of 2009 as a Design Intern with the the New York City Mayor’s Office of Long-term Planning & Sustainability. This position gave her a chance to contribute to NYC’s sustainability efforts by working as graphic designer on the 2009 progress report for Mayor Bloomberg’s PlaNYC sustainability initiative, the most drastic plan to enhance New York’s urban environment in the city’s modern history, which will contribute to a 30% reduction in global warming emissions. Sariahmed worked with design firm Two Twelve and their initial design’s for PlaNYC’s launch.
