AMT faculty Sven Travis, Michie Pagulayan and Kunal Jain Win Trust Challenge Award

header3-01AMT faculty BFA and MFA Design and Technology Sven Travis,  Michie Pagulayan and DT Alum and former faculty, Kunal Jain were recipients of the Trust Challenge Award for their project Code, Compose, Collaborate.

Winning projects were evaluated by a panel of interdisciplinary thought leaders, and were selected for their ability to advance trust, privacy, and equity in the context of the core values of connected learning, an approach to education in the 21st century that takes advantage of today’s abundance of information and social connection. Winners will receive between $35,000 and $150,000 each to develop their projects over the course of a year.

About Code, Compose, CollaborateSpanning New York, New Delhi, Shanghai, and Manila, Code, Compose, Collaborate is a learning environment where youth from different cultures, with varying access to technology, can interact, create, collaborate, and share using the neutral and safe mediums of sound and computation. Using affordable open source hardware and software, Code, Compose, Collaborate will teach youth programming basics while familiarizing them with online issues of collaboration, ownership, privacy, and sharing.
