The Parsons Institute for Intellectual Property in partnership with The Artists’ Rights Subcommittee of the New York City Bar Art Law Committee will host an evening panel on the Business of Art: Know Your Legal Rights. Panelists will include practicing lawyers who will present topics such as relations with galleries and agents; the basics of drafting and evaluating contracts; trademark, copyright and moral rights issues that may arise in creating and promoting art and tax issues with respect to creating and donating works of art. This event is designed for art students and artists in the early to mid stage of their careers and will be open to the public.
