To apply for the design apprenticeship program, please submit one of the following two projects. Project A is for those applying to the Apparel Design Apprenticeship and Project B is for those applying to the Graphic Design Apprenticeship:
You are a guest designer with or design team for the season and we’d like you to design a product for our line that reflects the NFL, NHL or NBA with a little bit of your style.

What inspires you in your active life, in sports and in sport-inspired street-wear? What kind of styles/designs do you think consumers want to wear their favorite pro or college team? What do you know about adidas and Reebok’s long history and how our unique heritage speaks to our current and future designs?

PROJECT A – Apparel Design Applicants:
Create a micro collection (2-4 pieces) of sport apparel that best represents your style OR you would sell to someone in your age group (18-24). Keep the product focused around one of our PRO sports leagues (NFL/NBA/NHL) or you can also utilize one of our adidas colleges as well (ND, MICHIGAN, TENNESSEE, CINCINNATI, TEXAS A&M, UCLA)
** If you chose the NFL or NHL leagues the Reebok branding and influence should be used within the designs and concepts. If you chose the NBA or the Colleges listed above the adidas brand marks and influence should be utilized

You can choose ONE of the below product directions:

PERFORMANCE: Keep the collection “Performance driven” and focused around the athlete and player needs. Product designs should include wicking fabrications and performance features, all which will make the athlete/player be the best.
LIFESTYLE: Design a micro collection “in trend” to current trends and directions in the marketplace, yet embracing the adidas or Reebok brands unique influence. Product designs should include trending silhouettes, colors, materials and fabric washes if applicable. The collection should communicate how the fan would want to wear their product and passion for the team/school.
Show us what clearly defines the range and makes it stand out from our competitors.

PROJECT B – Graphic Design (IMAGE DESIGN) Applicants:
Create a “TEAM Concept Booklet” outlining the history of one of the PRO teams of the NFL or NHL, which could influence new uniform/logo/identity designs. Choose a team with long a history within the league. Visually create a dated timeline outlining the years of the teams uniforms, colors, and logo identities. The audit should use imagery to visually show these generations. Construct an audit of the team’s home city with emphasis on elements, colors, etc which could also be incorporated in the uniform/logo/identity designs (example, 5 boroughs of NY could become 5 stripes on a uniform design). Research any other information that could be translated to the actual design to these branding/uniforms.

As with any project at Reebok, we look at designs from concept to completion, so your project should show your work from beginning to end. Your final submission should include the following:
An inspiration board showing us what inspires you in your active life, in sports, in current fashion and/or in sports-inspired apparel. Include all the “building blocks” you used in order to create your directions and product concepts including influences for colors and materials.

Hand sketches showing us the evolution of your idea from the beginning to your final selected designs. Line art in Adobe Illustrator that translates your hand sketches to computer drawings, flats, sketches with construction call-outs.
A final rendering of your designs (in color) in a presentation format that showcases your work the best possible way.
Submit this project with your cover letter, resume and samples of your work. All projects and samples should be no more than 5-6 pages, in 8×11 letter size, PDF file formats only.
All submissions are the property of Reebok International and will not be returned.
