Dawood works across film, painting and sculpture to interrogate perception, the politics of place, and structures of belief. His projects operate between the real and surreal, and often involve collaborations with groups and individuals. Drawing upon extensive travels and research, his work manifests a deep interest in the fantastical, unusual and speculative. Recent shows include the ICA London; Taipei Biennial: Marrakech Biennial: MACBA Barcelona: MoMA PS1; Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art, Rotterdam; Museum of Modern Art Oxford; Busan Biennale; Yarat Contemporary Art Center, Baku; Tate Britain; and the Venice Biennale.
