My projects usually explore the interaction between childhood and adulthood. I enjoy contrasting children’s elements with the adult atmosphere in order to wake up the inner child that we all ignore. One of my last sculptures is called “The Charlatans”, a group of characters who turned an adult space into their playground in order to express their hidden inner child though toys. As we become adults, we feel restricted and scared by the conditions of social standards. However, The Charlatans have refused to belong to the stereotyped world. They were missing their honest, intuitive, and spontaneous side. For that reason, they decided to rescue the courage from childhood to celebrate their illusions and dreams. As a result, the sculpture perpetuates their immortal child who used to be simpler, natural, and unfiltered in comparison with today’s complications of being an adult.
