5 is a collection of 5 separate small projects in which each project has something to do with the number 5.
As an artist I’ve always loved to experiment; I could never stick to one technique in term of creating art. During my years at Parsons, I’ve always approach each project separately; I always asked myself what kind of technique or medium would work best for this particular project. Hence, when I started thinking about what 1 thing I would want to focus on for my thesis, I was stumped. I could not choose just one project to do, but then again, why should I? That’s why I decided to do multiple projects rather than just one. I called my thesis projects 5.
5 is a collection of 5 separate small projects in which each project has something to do with the number 5. Aside from using 5 as the theme, I also limit my color palette to 5 colors: red, blue, yellow, black, and white.
5 consists of:
5 Letter Words Quilt
5 Friends – Various sizes of hand-sewed interactive plushies
Gif of 5 Friends
Crowd – Series of 5 colored pencil illustrations focused on people and crowd
Lost – A minimalist children’s book
