Description
Vesperae, a multi-media installation, delivers the message “Coffee as object of connectivity” and serves as a sensual reminder of its ritualistic and communal role. The hive-like form, evocative of community and dwelling, is enhanced by projections of vintage Louisiana Kodachrome slides through the repurposed Café du Monde coffee tins. The saturated color on plastic lids reminds one of stained glass. Vesperae explores the universal themes of home, tradition and gatherings and celebrates the reawakening of New Orleans. This piece honors my New Orleans heritage and our family tradition of drinking coffee in the afternoon.
