Certainly Studio takes honors in the 2009 American Graphic Design Awards

New York—September 21, 2009—Certainly Studio has been awarded a 2009 American Graphic

Design Award for the brand identity it created for acerno. The brand identity and stationery system were created for the ad network acerno by the New York based firm Certainly Studio in collaboration with Magnitude 9.6 and Mara Kurtz Studio. According to Certainly’s president Jim Wagner, the conceptual basis for the brand’s development is rooted in acerno’s proprietary offerings of adding more value for the client. “acerno was able to set itself apart from other ad networks by offering a true difference and a great return for its customers. That clear mission helped us create a powerful tagline that was not only memorable, but defining: ‘the add network.’ The logo shows the selection process as well as the idea of added value.”

Using anonymous consumer shopping data from product manufacturers, multichannel retailers, travel, and telecom websites, acerno’s powerful analytics predict who these consumers are and what products or services they are interested in buying. acerno then targets them accordingly with dynamic display advertising in real time and at scale across premium comScore 500 sites.

The acerno brand premiered in June 2008. Three months later, the company was sold to Akamai Technologies for approximately $95 million. According to Amy Deneson, Akamai’s Senior Marketing Manager who worked directly with the Certainly group, “Working with this team was so inspiring, interesting, and exceptional—that even though we are thrilled with our new identity—I wish we could re-brand all over again.”

The award is presented by Graphic Design USA magazine. Certainly’s work will appear in their December 2009 issue.
