From the curator’s statement:
“The artists included in ATAVAST work in both traditional and digital media to express something of the binary aspects of being disembodied, of speeding through the virtual atmosphere, of making ourselves in our own image in the non-physical space. They explore our relationship to the natural world as mediated through the camera, through the screen, at a distance. They attempt to traverse the uncrossable out-of-body distance between eyes and screen, screen and physical experience.”
