How long is the MFA program?

The MFA program is completed in four semesters over a period of 2 years.

Can I study part-time?

No, the Parsons Fine Arts MFA requires all students to a full-time study of 16 units per semester.

Is it possible for MFA students to work outside of the program?

Yes many students hold part-time jobs.  Most classes at Parsons are held during the day so a full-time career is not possible while enrolled in the program.

How many students are enrolled and how many are accepted?

There are 46 students in the MFA program.  Each class size is usually 23 students.

When do students find out if they have been accepted?

You will receive a letter in late March.

Is there financial aid available?

There are fellowship moneys available. Some fellowship moneys are merit based.  Additionally, loans are available to students.  For more information please refer to this link

Is there student housing?

Yes, though most students find off campus housing.

Are there teaching opportunities at Parsons?

Yes, there are several teaching fellowships and teacher assistant positions offered during the second year.
