imagesFor each of the last 5 years students from Parsons, and across the New School, have participated in a joint Russian/American exhibition at The State Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg, Russia, one of the world’s preeminent museums. This year any student may submit up to 10 photographs or 3 time based pieces for consideration for exhibition.

The guild lines for submitting work are simple. Each piece needs to be either a still life, or combination of a person and a still life, based on one of the following painters from the Hermitage collection: Willem Claesz, Frans Hals, Jean-Baptiste Simeon Chardin, Cezanne, Henri Fantin-Latour, Matisse – four manners of still life. Final still images should be 300 dpi at 32 inches on the longest side, videos should run between 1:30 and 5 minutes.

Please email submissions as 72 dpi jpgs to: wernert@newschool.edu, care of Thomas Werner. If you are creating a video please send me an email when your piece is complete and I will invite you to drop box to upload your work, or we can meet in person.

The exhibition will take place at The Hermitage in the new contemporary art building. We will open the last week in May and run through June 2014.

The deadline for submission is 8pm, Sunday, March 2nd.
