PICTUREBERLIN’s multi-faceted hybrid artist residency / art academy developed by artists for artists in 2009, immerses the international residents into the Berlin art scene by way of portfolio reviews, curatorial and artist presentations, choreographed walks, one-on-one meetings, studio visits, multiple exhibitions, gallery and project space tours, in addition to a debriefing of the ever changing art scene in Berlin.
PICTUREBERLIN offers 2 sessions. The shorter Fall Session facilitates professional development through community building and resource sharing with Berlin based international arts professionals. The Summer Session also focuses on professional development, plus gives space to the making and exhibiting of work during the Session.
On Monday, 17 October, the Founding Director, April Gertler, will be on campus to talk about PICTUREBERLIN programming and structure in-depth.
