PhotoFeast is pleased to present a New School exhibition, Friar’s Lantern, which opens today with a reception from 6-9pm and will remain on view until April 15th in the 2 West 13th Street lobby. The exhibition features work from thirteen undergraduate New School students, which invite the viewer to contemplate the flatness of an image along with its ephemeral qualities that acknowledge the surrounding space. The artists use recognition of the visual plane, interference with the print, and elements of video to investigate the boundaries between the still and moving image. By questioning the viewing experience, the audience becomes a participant within a discourse for theoretical explorations and critical analysis of the media used.

There will also be a panel discussion held between select artists and curators with moderator Diwa Tamrong on April 9, 6-7pm in the Orientation Bark Room.
