About the Position
We’re looking for talented User Experience Design Interns to join our product team & help us take our Casebook system from pilot to platform, enabling case workers to use modern social networking technologies to track cases better, see the connections among the various people and agencies, be more effective and efficient, and improve the quality of life for families and children.

We’re Visual Thinkers and Storytellers – we collaborate closely with other Designers, Product Managers, and Developers at the whiteboard to translate the complexities of state wide policy into meaningful human centered narratives and user flows.
We’re Rapid Iterators – we work with some of the best agile/rails developers in the world in a process that allows us to generate and evaluate new designs quickly. The user feedback loop is immediate and the sprints are week to week.
We’re Innovators – we believe in the power of design as a transformative process. We’re designing a digital platform that is a new way of engaging government in the child welfare space, in order to help social workers focus on critical thinking instead of policy compliance.
We’re Researchers – we believe in the power of user research to inform design at every step of the process, from exploratory research to usability testing.

We’re looking for
• Experience with user research and usability testing
• Competency in standard design and prototyping tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Omnigraffle/Visio)
• Strong communications and problem-solving skills
• Willing to learn new technologies and tools
• Able to write for various purposes and various needs
• Interest in working with technology as it applies to government policy
• Able to work effectively without close supervision
