Mutual Mentoring: Research, Scholarship and Creative Practice

This event is open to Part-timeand Full-time faculty.

The Parsons Fashion RSCP Mutal Mentoring presentation is conceived as an opportunity to share methods and modes of creative research practice across Fashion communities at Parsons. The aim is to enrich dialogues about the range of creative research and practice currently pursued across Parsons and the broader discipline/industry; its role in faculty and student development; and potential impacts within and beyond the classroom and curriculum.

Presentations will by moderated J.R. Campbell, Director of The Fashion School at Kent State University. Prof. Campbell holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design, a Master of Fine Arts in Textile Arts and Costume Design from the University of California, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Supervising Postgraduate Research Degrees for Professionals in Art, Design and Communication. He was tenured at Iowa State University in 2004. As Professor and Director of The Fashion School at Kent State University since July 2009, Campbell has been researching, designing and creating artwork with digital textile technology for over fifteen years, pushing the limits of imaging technologies as they relate to clothing, our environment and the human form.
