Primary responsibilities include designing interactive content for J.Crew website initiatives and associated marketing materials. Portfolios of ideal candidates will demonstrate a strong personal identity and bring a fresh approach to art direction and interaction design on the Internet.

Excellent typography, illustration skills, basic knowledge of Flash and HTML, interest and/or experience in fashion are not necessary but definitely a plus. Must be comfortable with Photoshop. Must be self-motivated, a team player and have a great attitude.

J.Crew Seeks Front-End Developer

J.Crew is seeking an expert in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript development. Primary responsibilities include converting design concepts to functional HTML/CSS/JavaScript code with attention to detail and enthusiasm for user experience innovation, while employing best practices and maintaining consistency across major browsers.

TASKS
• Create user-friendly, standards-compliant HTML, CSS and JavaScript code
• Optimize performance of client-side code across relevant browsers/platforms
• Work with e-commerce team to define, implement and maintain coding style guides and standards
SKILLS
• Expert level experience with HTML/CSS and JavaScript (jQuery a plus)
• Experience with mobile HTML development standards (iOS experience a plus)
• Experience with HTML email implementation
• Experience creating wireframes and functional schematics
• Experience with XML, JSP, AJAX and ActionScript a plus
• Must be comfortable working in a highly design-focused environment (with a strong appreciation for aesthetics) and take pride in pixel-perfect precision
