Positions available for interning at Taryn Simon studio

Candidates would ideally start at the end of August/very beginning of September, as Taryn has a show at the Park Avenue in mid September, so we need to transition from summer to fall interns seamlessly. Students with experience in filmmaking and sound particularly of interest for the Armory prep. Ideally candidates who can help with documentation would start immediately.

For the full semester, we are open to having students who are in the visual arts or who have a focus in research, journalism, political theory etc.

Qualifications

Much of our work involves extensive research (online and otherwise), but there will also be photo shoots and production, retouching, printing etc, so there is work for a range of skills and interests.

A committed, extremely fastidious, and above all intelligent individual is essential. The candidate would need to be a good self-starter, with excellent writing and oral communication skills, and the ability to carry a project to completion.

At present, we are only looking for interns who can get course credit for the experience. A minimum of 2 days a week in studio work necessary to be considered.
