On July 31st, Google hosted the Geek Street Fair at the 14th Street Park in NYC. Youth participants from Parsons Scholars Program and gadgITERATION, and Parsons faculty Louisa Campbell and Jonah Brucker-Cohen manned a booth at the event showing off their creative projects. gadgITERATION is a series of hands-on, student directed design workshops that encourage a creative and artistic engagement with technology through a focus on the intersection of technological and design literacies. Parsons Scholars is a college preparatory program designed to give access to Parsons to a diverse body of talented students who might not otherwise have such an opportunity. The program offers multiyear scholarships to New York City public high school students.
