Colonial Wall Push (2018), Video still

Digital artist Kevin Quiles Bonilla reacts instinctively to public spaces using video and photography. In Lead (Chelsea Piers), the artist crouches and licks a series of brightly colored outdoor sculptures. In Position no. 01(Interventions on Three Benches), the artist lies limp on top of a large statue as if he’s been impaled.

From the walls we encounter to the paths we take and the bridges we cross, Bonilla uses his work to illustrate how public spaces can shape and define individual behavior.
