The Queens Museum

October 7, 2018—February 24, 2019

Opening Reception: October 7, 2018

Camel Collective (Anthony Graves & Carla Herrera-Prats) and MFA Alumna Umber Majeed have been selected to participate in the Queens International 2018.

Camel Collective’s Volumes with a two-channel video produced in Mexico City. The video is a meditation on the contingency and finitude of intellectual thought and social movements. It traces the problems of radical social movements and attempts to trouble reductive accounts of theory and practice, the digital and the analog, production and product.

Since its inauguration in 2002, the Queens International has highlighted the contemporary cultural production of Queens in a single major group exhibition approximately every two years. Queens International 2018: Volumes forms a dialog among forty-three Queens-connected artists representing 15 neighborhoods and several generations, including, for the first time, artists who have exhibited in earlier Internationals.
