WAX Magazine was founded in 2012 after a successful Kickstarter as a bi-annual print publication that focused on the intersection of art, culture, and surfing. Co-creators and Parsons professors Zak Klauck and David Yun teamed up with writer Aeriel Brown to bring together collaborators that frequent the surf shop while maintaining their careers as architects, artists, and writers. When not putting together issues for their half yearly release at WAX, Zak and David run Wax Studios and teach Advanced Typography and Senior Thesis in the Communication Design department at Parsons.
