Dorkshops This Weekend!

DorkShops are skill sharing events of the nerd variety. We are all students at Parsons The New School of Design, specifically in the Design and Technology program. We all have unique talents and skill sets that we’d like to share with everyone.

This weekend’s Dorkshops are located on the 11th and 10th floors of 6 E 16th St.

Saturday from 10-1: Game Design with Bryan Ma in room 1103
   Learn how to create Tetris in Processing!
   Required: Laptop with Processing
   If you feel comfortable with 2D arrays and objects, that is also good because there will be a lot of that.
Saturday from 1-2:30 and 2:30-4: Yoga with Kristin Slater in room 1008
   Come to one or two 90 minute sessions! (1pm or 2:30)
   Required: Clothing that will cover you if you flip upside-down. i.e no baggy shorts and shirts you can tuck in.Please bring your own mat if you have it. No experience required!
Sunday from 10-1: After Effects for Beginners with Jessie Contour in room 1008
   Learn the basics of motion graphics! Make shapes and text and play with the graph editor.
   Required: Laptop with After Effects.
   Not required but very useful: a mouse.
Sunday from 1-4: Cinema 4D with Pierce Wolcott in room 1008
   Learn the workflow of building environments, creating characters, and scripting rules to make your own engaging game-spaces.
   Required: Laptop with Cinema4D.
   Not required but useful: a mouse.
