I am interested in two senior students to come on board as Design and Photo interns with my start up group messaging app called Begroupd. During the Fall semester and/or winter break. The internship will begin asap.

Begroupd partnered with Khloe Kardashian to create the app and she promotes our app through her social media and we have a following of 30k followers on our social pages. The realty TV star from “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” has partnered with recent Cornell grad and CEO Lindsey Cummins to launch Begroupd, a messaging app with decision- making tools integrated directly into the chat stream: yes/no questions, rating functionality, RSVPs and polls. It’s the first and only app that has this feature for group messaging.

Begroupd app is compared to other group messaging apps such as WhatsApp and Groupme. What divides us from these apps is that Begroupd is the first group-messaging app to put decision-making in the palm of your hand. Simply ask a question within your group chats with Begroupd’s decision-making tools and get instant input from friends and family. Use polls, ratings, RSVPs or yes/no’s to collect feedback about any topic you want within a familiar chat environment. We are the first app to integrate these features directly into your group conversations.

Student’s will work each day that they are available to come in M-F from10:30am-6pm. Which accounts for the the hours that they must complete for student credit. This internship is unpaid but will be compensated for one meal a day. Unfortunately, the position is not paid and is only student credit based but if he/she does an excellent job and impresses the CEO there is a Junior Design position and an AP position that can be filled in the near future once they graduate. We would prefer students that are within their senior year. Most of my team is pretty young and we are willing to bring on board recent graduates. Being that we are a small start up team of 10 working out of the WeWork Gramercy office on 23 street and Park ave they will develop the opportunity to learn how a start up is created and how to help with design branding for start up company such ours. The WeWork Gramercy office in which we are located in is a great inspiring work space for start ups and networking for the interns. Once he or she arrives they will get an opportunity to be apart of the WeWork community and all the benefits that come within the start up community.

This opportunity is designed to give student’s professional work experience in Graphic Design and Photography. She/He will be working directly with me and my marketing team. I can be reached at 347.334.2621 or jehdy@begroupd.com. While interning with Begroupd, student will be expected to think outside the box design wise and to be tech/web/mobile design savvy and most importantly social media design savvy. Being that we are a mobile app a lot of our ads live on our Instagram, Twitter and Facebook pages. The interns will be helping me on the Marketing of the app but if they have UI experience in mobile design that is a plus but is not a necessary required skill. I am willing to teach whatever intern we take on board. I am more interested in the students knowing how to use Adobe creative suite: photoshop, Illustrator etc. It would be a extreme plus if the design/photo intern has skill’s in creating short MOV, animated gifs or illustrated files.

The design interns will assist me directly with everything from the static banner hero’s, branded ads, branded Instagram, Twitter and Facebook post. Photo intern will photo assisting me and my team. We shoot all of our photos in house—so they will be photo assisting as well and helping me conceptualize fun social content. The interns will help me mock up screenshots for the app. In my email I attached a zip drive with some design examples of our email blast designs, social media design, UI screenshot mocks of the app and a low res branded deck.
