Talking a Line for a Walk focuses on the use of language in design education through the lens of the assignment. Deriving from the exhibition of the same name, which was part of the International Biennial of Graphic Design Brno 2014, the publication showcases a compilation of contemporary and historical assignments ranging from the Renaissance up to the present day. Accompanied by an index of names and subjects, as well as an extensive bibliography, the book’s numerous historical examples provide an overview of different approaches to graphic design teaching.
