DT Faculty Ryan Raffa  just published the education-based iPad app, BreadcrumbsAfter his 9-month residency at EDesign Lab this past April, he and fellow collaborator, Anna Pinkas decided to see their working prototype through to a published version. For the past few months, they’ve been spending their free time meeting in coffee shops, designing on the weekends, and coding to the wee hours of the morning to finish their app, Breadcrumbs. You can see it here: Breadcrumbs – App Store

Ryan says:

“Breadcrumbs is a free education iPad app that records the process of problem solving. The app allows students to reflect on their method and share it with their peers and teachers. The app has been used by high school students here in NYC, and we’re excited to see the impact it has made on student learning and how teachers approach their curriculum.

We’ve had the great fortune to be working with New Visions for Public Schools through this stage of the process, and a huge thanks goes to Hsing WeiEric AllattaScott BrussDavid Wees and the students for helping us with key feedback and encouragement. Also, a special thanks to Ivy Raffa and Ryan Billia for keeping us going.

We’ll be continuing the development of it in the future after this initial launch, and we hope you get a chance to check it out. Please feel free spread the word and to send us feedback. If you have any questions about the app, I’d be happy to get together to chat.”
